An anopheles transgenic sexing strain for vertor control
Article Abstract:
A study discusses the development of transgenic sexing lines for the mosquito Anopheles stephensi, which is the principal vector of human malaria in Asia. Male mosquitoes, expressing enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) under the control of the Beta2-tubulin promoter, are identified by their fluorescent gonads in as early as their 3rd instar larval stage, and can be efficiently separated from females using both manual methods and automated sorting machines.

Inference in Bayesisan networks
Article Abstract:
The definition and construction of Bayesian networks, which are increasingly playing an important role in integrating biological data and inferring cellular networks and pathways, are presented. The wide range of application of Bayesian networks in computational biology is discussed.
