An unhealthy obsession with health: Companies should be wary of following health fads in the management of their employees
Article Abstract:
Traditionally companies have tried to reduce the number of days lost to sick leave for obvious reasons of productivity. Companies are advocating several types of health fads such as corporate membership of a gym, and fashions that constitute healthy living, but these fashions come and go even faster than fashions for management ideas, and therefore, advocating the current fashion in anything is futile.
