Cash bonanza for finance chief in NTL-Telewest merger

There is a cash bonanza for many directors of the target company, who will be able to take advantage of their shares and share options due to takeover by cable giant NTL of the UK rival Telewest. Telewest finance director Neil Smith is set to get $3.5 million, while chairman Cob Stenham gets almost $20 million, chief executive Barry Elson $17 million, and chief operating officer Eric Tveter $9 million.
