Applied Holographics
Article Abstract:
Applied Holographics should benefit from a rise in demand for its products as a result of increasing concern about fraud. The company has to invest heavily in production technology and profit growth is less predictable as a result. The company has been awarded a 10-year contract by the United Kingdom Passport Office and should also benefit from rising demand in retail packaging. The company should also be aided by the launch of notes for the new European currency, the euro, for which it supplies holograms.

The company has moved into the TV camera equipment and camera supports market from its original activity of defense electronics. The company has been affected by currency markets but has some protection from its overseas presence, especially in the US. New developments like digital TV should benefit Vitec.
