Article Abstract:
Marconi Aerospace Systems Inc., CNI Division, Wayne, N.J., is being awarded a $3,939,138 increment as part of a not-to-exceed $5,252,210 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for two main terminals and various spares in support of the Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS), for Germany. This system is an integrated communication, navigation, identification (CNI) system that provides secure, jam-resistant communication data and voice for command and control navigation, relative position location and identification. Work will be performed in Wayne, N.J. (75%), and Cedar Rapids, Iowa (25%), and is expected to be completed by Dec. 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Oct. 5, 1998. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications & Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (F19628-97-C-0035).
