Article Abstract:
Urban Associates Inc.*, El Paso, Texas, is being awarded a $7,230,000 firm-fixed-price contract for the renovation of eight standard ammunition magazines (earth covered); an 8,000 sq. foot surveillance workshop, an inert storage facility; an addition to an operations building, a salvage yard office, a safe haven parking lot, and an above ground petroleum, oils and lubricants dispensing facility. Work will be performed at the McGregor Range, N.M., and is expected to be completed by March 25, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement on the World Wide Weband in Commerce Business Daily on July 31, 1998, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth, Texas (DACA63-98-C-0045).

Black & Veatch Special Project Corp., Overland Park, Kan., was awarded on Sept. 25, 1998, a $10,597,807 increment as part of an $11,991,052 firm-fixed-price contract for two-phase design and construction of an Atmospheric Air Dryer Facility to provide an additional independent source of dry air for use in the Propulsion Wind Tunnels. Work will be performed at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., and is expected to be completed by Oct. 25, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 98 bids solicited on April 10, 1998, and four bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile, Ala. (DACA01-98-C-0090).
