Article Abstract:
The Boeing Co., Huntsville, Ala., was awarded $10,325,000 on March 5, 1999, as part of a $20,650,000 firm-fixed-price letter-contract for 14 Avenger Fire Units for the Avenger System, a light-weight, highly mobile, and transportable surface-to-air missile/gun weapon system mounted on a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV). Work will be performed in Huntsville, Ala., and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Feb. 10, 1999. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala. (DAAH01-99-C-0077).

Applied Research Associates Inc.*, Albuquerque, N.M., is being awarded a $980,000 increment as part of an $8,006,878 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to design, develop and deliver up to four major release versions of integrated munitions effects assessment weaponeering tools. Work will be performed in Raleigh, N.C., and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement in the Commerce Business Daily on June 12, 1998, and one bid was received. The contracting activity is the Defense Special Weapons Agency, Alexandria, Va. (DSWA01-98-C-0180).
