Military Transport Inc.*, Princeton, N.J., is being awarded a $6,761,874 firm-fixed-price supply-type contract for the construction and delivery of 1,600 Side-Opening Intermodal Containers in support of a contingency operation or war effort by the U.S. Air Force. Work will be performed in Sunny Point, N.C., and is expected to be completed by April 10, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 25 bids solicited on Aug. 11, 1998, and 11 bids were received. The contracting activity is the Military Traffic Management Command, Falls Church, Va. (DAMT01-98-C-9848).

Allied Signal Inc., Tempe, Ariz., is being awarded a $12,338,140 modification to a cost-no-fee contract for long lead material in support of the Anniston Army Depot/Allied Signal Engine Rebuild Partnership. Work will be performed in Anniston, Ala. (85%); and Phoenix, Ariz. (15%), and is expected to be completed by Dec. 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on July 28, 1998. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich. (DAAE07-98-C-0033).
