Article Abstract:
Northern National Education Foundation, Colorado Springs, Colo., is being awarded an increment (appropriation number and dollar value will be issued with each delivery order) as part of a $14,759,199 (phase-in/base total) cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-plus-award-fee, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity task order arrangement contract. The cumulative total will be $102,941,641, if all options are exercised. The contractor shall provide analytical, technical, operational and programmatic support in support of the definition, planning, development and execution of the Department of Defense satellite communications missions. This includes the development of architectures, vision statements and doctrine; program integration; rapid prototyping and limited procurement/production of satellite communications systems; operational support; testing; training; independent verification and validation; integrated logistics support; programmatic support, and analysis of emerging technologies. Work will be performed in Colorado Springs, Colo., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2004. There were 35 bids solicited on Feb. 18, 1998, and three bids were received. Harris Corp., Melbourne, Fla., was awarded on May 29, 1998, a $22,850,000 (base year total) firm-fixed-price/time-and-materials contract for modernization of AN/GSC-52 satellite terminals, to extend the life by 15-20 years. The cumulative total will be $89,962,310 if all options are exercised. Work will be performed in Melbourne, Fla., and is expected to be completed by May 26, 2008.
