Army, Raytheon work to make antenna farms history
Article Abstract:
Army and Raytheon Company are working together to develop multi-function antennas because the service is looking to replace the proliferation of many antennas found on most battlefield vehicles with just one. The cutting of the number of antennas on a vehicle saves money and reduces the visibility of a vehicle to enemies in combat and also a multi-functional radio system is a key goal of the Army Future Combat Systems (FCS) program to accommodate radar, active-protection, and high-data-rate communication.

Article Abstract:
A military analyst believes that the US Army might decide to continue the development of the Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) surveillance gear, while delaying a decision on which aircraft would house those electronics in November 2005.
