Lockheed offers last proposed revision for Army munition

Lockheed Martin Corp. has submitted its final proposal revision for the Army Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System II (APKES II) system design and development (SDD) program. The Army wants to develop and produce a 2.75 inch rocket under the APKEWS II and the program winner might end up with supplying 80,000 or more rounds to the US plus additional munitions in the international market.

Army buys system to defeat car bombs

The US Army is obtaining a new-technology system from a company based in Irvine, California, that can defeat the threat of car bombs. HiEnergy Technologies, Inc. has received the order for its CarBomb Finder and the deal is awarded as part of a contract with the Army Tank - Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) in Warren, Michigan.
