BAE Systems wins $122.3 million FCS pact

BAE Systems, in a modification of the system development and demonstration (SDD) contract, valued at $122.3 million, will develop two armed robotic vehicle (ARV) variants for the US Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) program. FCS consists of cutting-edge manned and unmanned ground and air vehicles and other component, linked together by an advanced network and the initiative will be jointly monitored by the Boeing Co. and Science Applications International Corp.

Army, DHS to adopt improved BAE imaging tech on UAVs: Hunting IEDs, other targets
Article Abstract:
The Army and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) would be adopting BAE Systems' improved sensor capabilities aboard unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for troops in Iraq and for the US border patrol applications. The device has the capability to search for camouflaged improvised explosive devices (IEDs), vehicles, people and other potential targets.

Army signs pact with Boeing for Longbow modernization
Article Abstract:
The US Army has signed the first production engineering contract with the Boeing Company for Block III AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopters on June 28, 2005. The research, development, test and evaluation contract will provide the current-year funding of non-recurring engineering costs for Block III modernizations for Apache Longbow attack helicopters.
