Back from the brink
Article Abstract:
Businessmen must confront business downturn and immediately plan recovery instead of hiding the situation until it is too late to prevent insolvency. An independent business consultant can be brought in to help devise recovery strategies. Steps in a turnaround plan include assets re-valuation, cash infusion, inventory reduction, employee downsizing and closure of some offices. However, entrepreneurs must immediately inform employees, suppliers, lenders and clients of the situation, present recovery strategies and secure their cooperation and approval. A typical turnaround is described.

The great dollar debates
Article Abstract:
The Bank of Canada's bungling of investor expectations serves as the rationale supporting the premise that internal factors account for the decline in the Canadian dollar. On the other hand, the explanation supporting the argument that external factors are behind the Canadian dollar's decline is that the Canadian dollar is highly perceptive to the dynamic price of raw materials.
