Banks, financial markets, and social welfare
Article Abstract:
A model comparing the financial systems where banks can access financial markets with those where banks cannot access financial markets is presented. The model arrives at equilibrium between the two financial systems. The model also examines the social welfare from the two types of financial systems. For the purpose of this study, the financial markets in Germany and U.S. are compared.
