Barriers, brew and brouhahas
Article Abstract:
The smooth flow of provincial trade in Canada is thought to be impeded by various factors. Restricted procurement policies, work permits and provincial regulations on the sale of products and services are considered some of these obstacles. Those who are in favor of a stronger economic union have suggested amending clause 121 of the present Constitution or requesting the government to enact laws that will promote economic union. However, real trade barriers exist only between countries. In actuality, the perceived provincial trade barriers do not significantly affect the average Canadian citizen.

On the edge of crisis
Article Abstract:
Canada could experience a massive economic crisis because of its high level of public debt. The Canadian government and the banking sector continues to procrastinate about dealing with the country's huge federal deficit. Unless Canada begins to effectively deal with the deficit problem, analysts predict that the economic crisis could take place in the near future. The crisis will be characterized by strong demand for a significant premium in interest rates, massive unemployment and sudden inflationary hikes.

Mired in mediocrity
Article Abstract:
The real economic problem in Canada is the consistently high levels of unemployment in the country. However, the focus of most experts is not on the employment condition in the country but in recessions, which actually do not lead to an economic collapse. Unfortunately, efforts by the government to curb unemployment rates, such as job retraining and research and development, are futile. Instead, it should introduce more flexibility into the economy, thereby exposing people to the uncertainties of change.
