Bid speculation keeps power shares bubbling
Article Abstract:
The share prices of UK electricity companies have risen due to bid speculation. Investors seeking further gains should be wary. A number of companies are thought to be planning bids for UK electric utilities and they include National Power, and US companies. Investors cannot be certain of buying shares in a company which is subject of a bid, and prices have already taken into account the likely impact of bids. Bidders may also be less prepared to pay a premium.
