Boeing's blast at Airbus
Article Abstract:
The senior vice-president of Boeing, Ron Woodward, argues that it is too expensive to development a very large aircraft as a stand-alone project. He sees stretching existing Boeing 747 aircraft as a more realistic option, in contrast to Airbus, which is seeking to develop a new model. Woodward argues that the market for such a large aircraft is not large enough to justify the cost of developing it. Airbus estimates that it would cost $10 billion to develop such an aircraft.
