Bosch invests in Jihlava massively
Article Abstract:
Bosch Diesel (BD) (Jihlava, Czech Republic), Diesel engine injection equipment manufacturer, will enlarge its plant in Jihlava. The firm should invest CEK 4.5 bil in the plant's enlargement in 2001. Nearly CEK 1 bil of the sum will be invested in the construction of a new hall and CEK 3.5 bil in technology. The firm should commission a total of five lines for the production of a new type of high-pressure pumps by 2003. The number of the firm's employees will increase to 5,000 in 2003 compared to the current 2,700 persons. BD plans to invest another about CEK 180 mil in its production in 2005. It invested nearly CEK 4 bil in the purchase of land, technology and construction during 1992-2000. Its plant in Jihlava saw proceeds of CEK 3.8 bil in 2000. In the Czech Republic, the concern Robert Bosch (Stuttgart, Germany) has a petrol engine injection equipment production plant in Ceske Budejovice, besides the plant in Jihlava.

The Japanese firm Onamba will build a new plant in Olomouc

Onamba (Japan), electrical engineering company, will start the construction of a new plant in Olomouc, the Czech Republic, in the middle of 2001. The firm will invest CEK 100 mil in the plant, which will employ 150 persons. The firm will increase the number of its employees according to the number of contracts. The plant will be built in an industrial zone. The city of Olomouc invested CEK 30 mil in the setting up of the industrial zone. Onamba is a manufacturer of bunched cables and ignition coils for the electrical engineering industry.

Optokon will commission a hall in Jihlava
Article Abstract:
Optokon (Jihlava, Czech Republic), optical and electronic connector manufacturer, will commission a new CEK 45 mil production hall. The hall was built by Nest (Czech Republic). Optokon's proceeds should increase by 20% in 2001 compared to CEK 260 mil in 2000. Its proceeds rose by 70% in 2000 compared to 1999. The number of the firm's employees should increase by more than a half shortly compared to the current 95 persons, due to the new investment.
