CICA's pre-budget message: secure the future
Article Abstract:
The impact of the events of 11th September on the federal government's immediate agenda are discussed. It is proposed that government should sharpen its focus on ensuring security and well-being of its citizens. The CICA also urged the government to work towards lowering the debt to GDP ratio, and look properly at its fundamentals while submitting its annual federal budget to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance.

The trend in stock exchanges nowadays is consolidation. The NYSE and NASDAQ are continually looking for more turf to acquire. But before a universal exchange can be realized, global reporting, technology and regulatory standards must be set.
