Pharmacia strengthens position in European dairy market
Article Abstract:
Pharmacia Animal Health launched a new milk testing service for European dairy farmers who use its antibiotic product, Excenel RTU Sterile Solution. When commercial tests find illegal antibiotic residues in milk, farmers can send samples to an independent test laboratory for a second opinion. The service will help uncover false positive results that could have led to further testing costs and fines.

Pfizer restructure hits Missouri operations
Article Abstract:
Pfizer will close an animal health products plant in Missouri because of corporate restructuring efforts and reduced product demand. The closure, which follows other corporate consolidation efforts, will cause the loss of about 140 jobs. Pfizer's other plans include reassigning some veterinary research and development staff and cutting jobs in its animal health division.
