Carlton Communications reported a rise in turnover of 2% to 686 million pounds sterling from television broadcasting for 1995 to 1996. The company has acquired Westcountry TV which should bring cost savings. Profits from other activities have increased more rapidly. Quantel's profit was up by a third at 43.1 million pounds. The Video division increased its profit to 73.2 million pounds from 60.7 million pounds. Carlton could achieve a group profit of more than 330 million pounds for 1996 to 1997.
