Ceska Rafinerska saw a profit of nearly CEK 3 bil in 2000
Article Abstract:
Ceska rafinerska (CER) (Litvinov, Czech Republic), petrochemical company, will complete and commission a new oil treatment unit during 1H 2001. Total investment costs on the unit, which should start the production of petrochemical products at the end of Apr 2001, were nearly CEK 8 bil. CER invested nearly CEK 5.1 bil in 2000. According to international accounting standards, CER saw a net profit of CEK 2.936 bil in 2000, nearly a double compared to a profit of CEK 1.687 bil in 1999. According to Czech standards, CER saw an audited profit of CEK 2.53 bil in 2000 compared to CEK 1.48 bil in 1999. The main reason for the growth of the 2000 profit was a higher refinery margin. CER's proceeds rose to CEK 52 bil in 2000 compared to CEK 31.3 bil in 1999. CER's main shareholder is Unipetrol (Czech Republic) with a 51% stake. Its other shareholders are Agip Petroli International, Conoco Central and Eastern Europe Holdings and Shell Overseas Investments.

Ceska Rafinerska lowers its market share
Article Abstract:
Ceska rafinerska (CRa) (Litvinov, Czech Republic), refinery firm, decreased its share on the market to less than 50% at the beginning of 2001. It was caused by the steps of competition, which is going to extend its production at the refinery in Kralupy, the Czech Republic. In Mar 2001 the firm was to increase its market share to 57%. Currently, CRa has slightly less than a 50% share on the petrol and Diesel oil market.

Ceska Rafinerska completes an investment

Ceska rafinerska (CER) (Litvinov, Czech Republic), petrochemical firm, completed an investment worth CEK 8 bil at the beginning of Mar 2001. The company is now able to extend its petrol and oil production. CER's new unit will increase its competitiveness against foreign refineries.
