Chinese proposed law threatens Taiwan - Experts
Article Abstract:
Chinese proposed 'anti-secession' law that China is aiming at Taiwan would represent a change in the relationship between the two regimes and move the situation closer to a violent and dangerous situation. According to Carolyn Bartholomew, commissioner on the US-China Economic & Security Review Commission, the effect of the law could be to criminalize the speech and extend the long arm of Chinese censorship to Taiwan by threatening those who even talk about Taiwanese independence.
