Clinton wins at the tape with marketing execs

Four similar surveys on 75 marketing executives' choices in the 1992 US presidential elections were compared. The Jun 1992 poll showed that 46% of respondents favored fellow businessman H. Ross Perot while 40% chose incumbent Pres George Bush. The Sep 1992 survey showed that Bush gained ground with 49.4% while Clinton came in second with 31.8%. The Oct 1992 poll showed that 40% still favored Bush while 36% chose Clinton. A survey done two days after the Nov 2, 1992 US presidential elections showed that 44.4% of the business marketers voted for Clinton due to economic concerns and a desire for change Bush garnered 41.7% and Perot got 8. 3% of the votes.

Business marketing execs go for Perot

Top business marketing executives stated their preference for presidential candidate Ross H. Perot in a survey conducted by Leo J. Shapiro and Assoc. A large majority of the business marketing executives said that if the election had been held in June, they would have voted for Perot. In addition, they said that Perot is closer to their idea of an ideal president than either Bush or Clinton. The preference of the executives contrasted with the results of the same survey conducted among heads of household consumers, who went with Pres Bush.

President Bush is marketers' choice
Article Abstract:
The Business Marketing Magazine surveyed 85 marketing executives to identify their choice of presidential candidate. Results show that, if the election had been held at the time of the poll, 50% would have voted for Pres George Bush, as compared to 32% for Arkansas Gov Bill Clinton and 2.4% for Ross Perot while 16.5% are still undecided. Furthermore, 68.2% indicated that Pres Bush would be the best for business, while only 18.8% thought Clinton would be a boost to business. The poll was conducted in Sep 1992.
