The company that makes Humvees enjoyed a boost in their production after the Congressional authorizers approved additional millions for the Army to buy up-armored Humvees. Rob Schiller, the president and chief operating officer of Jacksonville, Florida-based Armor Holdings said in a conference that they are planning to increase the production to 450 up-armored Humvees per month by October 2004, which is an anticipation of additional funding that is planned by the administration.

West ignores a dangerous Afghanistan 'at its peril': General
Article Abstract:
Afghanistan requires a long-term military commitment from the West, as per deputy commander of the NATO-led peacekeeping force in Afghanistan, Major General Andrew Leslie. He compares his peacekeeping experience in the Balkans with Afghanistan, and concludes that, if the world ignores Afghanistan, it will also do so at the time of its danger because of some unpleasant elements in the form of narcotics or attacks on them.
