Cost of adding chat rises for some sites
Article Abstract:
The price for adding chat capabilities to World Wide Web sites has increased for small- and mid-sized sites, but dropped for large ones. A 63% increase for a chat area was noted for a small Web site, while a chat program for a mid-sized site posted a price hike of 55%. In contrast, the median price for installing a real-time chat program to a large site declined by 17% to $41,500. However, marketers are still divided over the issue of chat software, with some recommending chat applications and some believing that it is not always necessary.

Will the new browsers affect my Web site?
Article Abstract:
Internet users should not be overly concerned with the new Web browsers being introduced by Netscape and Microsoft because the install base for these products are presently limited. However, it is time for companies using the Internet to consult with their software developers and staff about developing new features for their Web sites. They can use the Netscape Communicator and IE offer a number of choices in redesigning a Web site.
