Crashing the boards
Article Abstract:
Many former sports athletes such as Earvin 'Magic' Johnson or Michael Jordan are proving that they are as equally accomplished in the corporate world as they were during their playing days. As a result, many firms are more open to perceiving successful athletes as potential assets to their organizations beyond the marquee value of these athletes' names. Successful sports legends possess a process oriented, team-player mentality and the skills of focus, persistence, discipline, tenacity and the ability to plan, all of which they can leverage in a corporate environment. Working for the moment is probably the most important element a top athlete can bring to a business.

There are no therapists in cubes
Article Abstract:
Companies should beware of employee-initiated griping sessions or individual workers who incessantly complain about anything and everything. While one of the greatest benefits of any job lies in being able to complain to one's co-workers about it, when left unchecked it can become a negative force that can destroy morale, erode productivity and waste valuable work hours. Employees who gripe consistently or whom are negative ought to be challenged to come up with a positive plan to effectively address the cause of their negativity.

Analyzing ambition
Article Abstract:
Business consultant and author James Champy strongly believes that ambition is the motive power behind all achievement. Champy, who has spent most of his career analyzing empires, tycoons and the practices of individual and corporate achievers, theorizes that ambition rises and falls like an arc. It begins with a purpose beyond mere greed, and is typically an exciting dream or vision that an individual with courage seizes at the moment it is born.
