DOD, contractors must bolster R&D in United States

Shirley Ann Jackson, president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute reported that the Department of Defense (DOD) and defense contractors should balance research and development work. This should be done by performing some of its work in abroad while ensuring that a substantial amount of the work is performed in the United States.

GD snares multiple contract awards

The Army's Tank automotive and Armaments Command has awarded $74 million worth contract to General Dynamics Land Systems for support work for the serivce's second Stryker Brigade Combat Team. The Department of Defense has awarded contracts worth more than $62 million to three more units of General Dynamics.
