Sambur warns contractors not to low-ball air force bids
Article Abstract:
The top Air Force acquisitions policymaker stated that defense contractors that attempt to low-ball bids on Air Force contracts, may have their bids rejected if they hope later cost overruns will increase the money they receive. Marvin Sambur, the assistant Air Force secretary for acquisition stated that such low bidding would lead to lesser competition.

General dynamics slashes price on ACS proposal

General Dynamics Corp. has cut down the price of its proposed version of the Army/Navy Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) aircraft, a G450 business jet. This was done to reduce the $33 million mark or more that the company was expected to seek.
