Article Abstract:
Raytheon Co., Raytheon Electronic Systems, Marlborough, Mass., is being awarded a $5,500,000 modification to a cost-plus-award-fee contract for a research and development effort for the Secure, Mobile, Anti-Jam, Reliable, Tactical Terminal (SMART-T) Program and to develop Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) capability to an Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) switch. Work will be performed in Marlborough, Mass., and is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were two bids solicited on Aug. 31, 1995, and two bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications & Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-96-C-A757).

SFA Frederick Manufacturing Div., Frederick, Md., is being awarded a $10,584,222 modification to previously awarded contract N00421-96-D-1239 to exercise an option to provide an estimated level of effort of 83,798 man-hours, supplies and services to design, develop, customize, manufacture, fabricate, test and evaluate, install, upgrade, equip, outfit and logistically support special purpose communication platforms. Work will be performed in Frederick, Md., and is expected to be completed in August 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, St. Inigoes, Md., is the contracting activity.
