Article Abstract:
The rise in value of the US dollar has occurred at a time when the US trade gap is also rising and this has meant that borrowing from overseas has reached record levels. US stock prices and the US dollar could drop in value of overseas investors sell their US assets. Investors may be attracted to US assets as a result of higher US capital productivity. A rise in US investment may also boost exports as a result of efficiency being increased.
