Dimensions of aberrant driver behaviour
Article Abstract:
Researchers replicated a study on driver behaviour undertaken by J. Reason and others in 1990. Reason's study used an extensive questionnaire on driver behaviour and concluded that aberrant driver behaviour had a three-factor structure. These factors were dangerous errors, harmless errors and violations. The present study added further items to the driver behaviour questionnaire and concluded that a four-factor solution is more appropriate. The additional factor is due to a division of the harmless errors category into errors due to inattention and errors due to inexperience.

Individual differences in driver stress vulnerability in a Japanese sample
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine driver stress in Japan. A sample of 510 Japanese drivers were asked to complete a translation of the Driver Behaviour Inventory to examine individual differences in vulnerability to driver stress. Results indicate that driver stress in the form of low confidence and high dislike towards driving may be protective since they are related to greater caution. On the other hand, driver stress in the form of aggression may be related to undesirable driving behaviors.
