Discussant's comments on Wall and Peterson, and Cordell and King
Article Abstract:
Ideas contributed by Wall and Peterson to the issue of the relationship of bank capital regulation to the ensuing credit crunch are well taken. The methodology they use is laudable. It distinguishes between regimes and utilizes the disequilibrium econometric method to come up with results. Cordell and King, on the other hand, have also contributed valuable insights through good methodology to the issue of risk-based capital standards.
