Article Abstract:
UK business start-up rates are improving in the UK as a whole in 2006, but there are strong regional divides ranging from the West Midlands, which is the best performing with an annual rise of 34%, to Wales with a mere 6% rise. Chartered accountants are working with regional development agencies (RDAs) to help alleviate the situation through their work with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
