Effects of control order, augmented feedback, input device and practice on tracking performance and perceived workload
Article Abstract:
Experiments confirm the direct association between performance and mental workload and that workload helps to evaluate the influence of diverse task-related demands. Findings support a direct link between psychophysical factors and perceived workload. Augmented knowledge of performance has little effect on both mental workload and performance. However, workload is reduced as performance level improves in both skill acquisition and retention phases. The implications for the development of virtual interfaces are discussed.

A quantitative meta-analytic examination of whole-body vibration effects on human performance
Article Abstract:
The effect of whole-body vibration (WBV), which has considerable influence in various work environments, was quantified through the identification of the moderating variables that influence how far work performance is affected. The results of a comprehensive meta-analysis that synthesized evidence derived from existing research indicated that WBV impacts performance negatively.

Individual differences in tracking
Article Abstract:
Subjects were given an iconic airplane target to track on a two-dimensional scale at three different task difficulty levels to assess visual skills. Between-subject variance is best represented by low-velocity and up-vertical combination, which also characterizes the study's poor performers. Skilled performers used the highest velocity and all directional options.
