Electronic tag on passengers to save BA billions
Article Abstract:
British Airways plans an electronic boarding pass which will function as an electronic tag for passengers who do not make a connection. The company faces losses due to delays when passengers do not make connections because their baggage is loaded on to their next flight and cannot travel unaccompanied for security reasons. Late departures incur charges and can affect the timetable. The tag will show the whereabouts of passengers and can be used for other services such as electronic ticketing.
