Empowering microarrays in the regulatory setting
Article Abstract:
Emphasis is laid on methodologies that can describe altered gene expression and cellular protein profiles in terms of their early metabolic consequences and relate these to developing, establishing or regressing pathologies in humans. Drug companies are pursuing active R&D projects to develop reliable biomakers of efficiency and toxicity using various technologies, often supported by DNA microarray data.

Evaluation of DNA microarray results with quantitative gene expression platforms
Article Abstract:
The MicroArray Quality Consortium (MAQC) data set was used as the basis of a study that assessed the performance characteristics of three quantitative gene expression technologies. It was observed that the alternative quantitative gene expression platforms validated the MAQC microarray data thus supporting the use of microarray platforms for the quantitative characterization of gene expression.
