Endothelial cells derived from human embryonic stem cells form durable blood vessels in vivo
Article Abstract:
A scalable two-dimensional method, which avoids an embryoid-body intermediate, is used to describe the differentiation of human embryonic stem (hES) cells into endothelial cells. The analysis has shown that after transplantation into severe combined immunodeficient (SCID) mice, the differentiated cells have contributed to arborized blood vessels that integrated into the host circulatory system and served as blood conduits for 150 d.

Towards universal red blood cells
Article Abstract:
The unavailability of proper enzymes was the major obstacle in the development of universal blood group by breaking the immunodominant monosaccharides that are responsible for antigenic properties of A and B blood groups. Novel recombinant galactosidase enzyme obtained from bacteria is proved to be suitable because of its substrate specificity and high affinity for the A and B monosaccharides.

B cells lead the way in tumor progression
Article Abstract:
B cells play an important role in promoting innate-immune-cell inflammation in a mouse model of epithelial carcinogenesis, which is in contrast to the view that adaptive immune cells are involved in 'surveillance' against developing neoplasms. B cells are a crucial part of tumour progression model through the promotion of chronic inflammation in the pre-malignant state.
