Recall Plus is a storage and retrieval system that allows users to index and store text that has been prepared on word processors that produce ASCII files. Recall Plus runs on any IBM PC, XT, or AT or compatible that has 256Kb RAM and an MS-DOS version 2 operating system. A library for text is created using a menu with single key selection. and then a dictionary file. The files for most applications will require dictionaries of at least 5,000 words. Indexing new documents is tedious, but subsequent retrieval of documents is very fast. Recall Plus with all features costs 495 pounds sterling, which includes maintenance and retrieval costs.

Planning Sciences Ltd's MasterModeller combines large models from different organizational profit centers and produces high quality management reports. The application is based on a matrix with columns for time periods and rows for model elements. Functions include: internal rate of return; interest due on annuities; net present values; and the time required for a variable to reduce to zero. The updated version of the package is an excellent product, particularly with its ability to default to existing data. The program is available for ICL micros, MS-DOS IBM-PCs and clones, and DEC machines.
