Flotations: new issues hiccup
Article Abstract:
The UK market for new share issues has seen a weak performance for some shares after they have floated, in summer 1996. There has been a continued increase in companies entering the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), and it has become more difficult to attract institutional investors. Some companies are postponing flotations as a result of this. Institutions have increased their cash holdings due to increased dividends so large investors can meet the demand for cash from companies.
