The war of the Windows
Article Abstract:
Computer users who prefer the windowing environment over text-based interfaces in microcomputer operating systems are faced with the hard task of choosing between IBM's OS/2 and Microsoft Windows. Those who support OS/2 say that this operating system is superior because it is capable of multitasking. It can concurrently execute processes, something that Windows cannot do. OS/2is also more appropriate for media applications. Windows, on the other hand, is attractive to many users because it does not need too much PC resources. It is also suited to 16-bit computers which are more numerous than the 36-bit computers that OS/2 cater to. Fortunately for those who cannot decide between the two, there are software vendors that are offering products compatible with both operating systems.
