Food producers and household goods
Article Abstract:
British producers of food and household goods face slow growth and pressure on margins. Unilever has seen its stock price fall, but the company is likely to become more focused by reducing the number of brands in its collection. Unilever also has funds to invest in its brands. Big, successful food producers are cash generative, as is the case with AB foods. There are growth prospects in some areas, such as premium-ready meals. Major, established food producers are better able to cope with pressure from retailers.
