Polaroid Corp., an instant-imaging camera manufacturer, intends to release new products in 1998 and 1999. This strategy will be launched amidst financial difficulties. The company will probably engage in partnerships, spin-offs, and innovations to produce new products fast. Polaroid gained $2.146 billion in sales in 1997. The company posted $2.275 billion in sales in 1996. Polaroid had $126.7 million in net losses in 1997. The firm had just $41.1 million in losses in 1996. The company has sold over 165 million cameras under the Polaroid brand.

Six companies to jointly promote Advanced Photo System

Canon U.S.A., Eastman Kodak Co., Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. Inc., Minolta Corp., Nikon Inc. and Noritsu America Corp. are collaborating on an advertising campaign that will promote increased knowledge on the Advanced Photo System. Marketing efforts for the products and services related to the system will be jointly undertaken by the group of companies. The triangle-and-ball logo that identifes the system will be at the heart of the ad campaign and will be featured in various recognized spots. Another campaign objective is to orient consumers into thinking that Advanced Photo System is another way taking good pictures.
