Forget the myths and get on with TQM - fast
Article Abstract:
Organizations aspiring to achieve total quality management (TQM) should first try to dispel several TQM myths so that they can successfully reach their goal. They must realize that significant organizational reforms do not always come from top management. Moreover, imposing a comprehensive strategy to achieve TQM does not always work in most companies. Essentially, an organization's TQM effort can only be successful if it aims for behavioral change among constituents, follows a simple formula, possesses realistic objectives, addresses customer needs and strives for continuous improvement.

Should the board of directors be involved in TQM?
Article Abstract:
Implementation of quality policy in corporations has always been viewed as a responsibility of top managers. As such, the board of directors is left with no other choice but to remain uninvolved in the process. However, current trends in corporate management call for the board of directors' more active involvement in the institution of total quality management (TQM) in corporations. Frequent interactions between top managers and members of the board of directors become imperative as the need for TQM becomes more apparent.
