Formulating the right response
Article Abstract:
The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) is preparing a response to the government's recently released consultation paper on compulsory competitive tendering. The paper stated that businesses could dispense with internal finance auditing and rely only on outside professional services. CIPFA's planned proposals include the definition of both the accountants' code of practice and the standards for the financial services they render.

Keep your software on the right side of the law
Article Abstract:
Internal auditing can help deter unauthorized reproductions of computer programs. As software packages become easier to copy, greater awareness should be imparted to all software users regarding the possible legal implications resulting from software abuse. Educating programmers of copyright rules and other legalities can help discourage the illegal copying of software packages.
