Russia and eastern Europe, and some unexpected economies such as Cuba, may attract the interest of investment managers in 1995. Investment trusts are also likely to promote personal equity plans (Peps) based on bonds, and there will be competition on costs. The fall in stock market prices of 1994 will be marketed as an investment opportunity for 1995. Tax advantages for new Venture Capital Trusts were announced in the UK Nov 1994 Budget, and these will also be marketed by the investment trust industry in 1995.
