KFC fights e-rumor of 'Frankenchickens'
Article Abstract:
Kentucky Fried Chicken's PR department is in a crisis situation due to the negative publicity circulating over the Internet about its fried chickens. The Internet smear campaign states that the fried chicken that KFC is serving its customers is a genetically manipulated organism and not a real chicken. The so-called chickens are claimed to be fed through tubes and that their bone structure is shrunk to produce more meat. The rumor was denied by KFC as well as the University of New Hampshire which was alluded to in the e-mail.

Mad cow disease: it just won't go away
Article Abstract:
The US beef industry still has to contend with the 'mad cow disease' scare that has battered its UK counterpart. Activists continue to call for the total ban of feeding animal remains to cattle, saying that scientific evidence points to this practice as the culprit behind the disease, which is also known as bovine spongiform encelopathy. Government officials, however, say there are enough laws that ban the use of sheep and cattle parts in animal feed.
