Graphics
Article Abstract:
Steff Geissbuhler, Jonathan Hoefler and Denise Gonzales Crip acted as jurors in the 44th Annual Design Review's Graphics category award which is exemplary considering that the field is still in the experimental stage. More than half of the 1998 awards were given to books or catalogues which seems to indicate that people have not come around yet to putting importance to Web pages competing for this category. The award-winning designs for the Graphics category are presented.

Article Abstract:
Once again, no award was given for Best of Category in graphics in the 39th Annual Design Review. Judges focused on the sociology of projects, exemplified by a pregnancy guide for rural African women, and on modest avoidance of slick, technological overdesign. Winners included company annual reports, product catalogs, design-school flyers, design publications, pro-choice and anti-drug posters, stationery, and art books and catalogs.
