Welsh members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) attended a high-level business and parliamentary dinner with the secretary of state for Wales, Peter Hain. Hain discussed the implications of the new Government of Wales Act which will change the Welsh legislative scenario after May 2007.

The extent to which the auditors can rely on the misrepresentations made by the management to them in order to relieve themselves from the liability in audit litigation cases are reported. Auditors should be very careful in detecting the fraud presented by the management that might mislead him.
