Hardened nuke concept remains a target
Article Abstract:
The conceptual nuclear weapon, the Robust Nuclear Earth Penetrator (RNEP) is designed to handle the underground enemy. The RNEP refers to a modified nuclear weapon as it would penetrate a significant distance into the earth before exploding and thereby be able of taking out deeply buried, hardened facilities such as enemy command centers or biological and chemical weapons caches.

U.N. finding on Iranian nukes 'undercuts' U.S. position - analyst

A US defense analyst has revealed that the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA), the United Nations nuclear underdog, conclusion on Iran's nuclear ambition has undercut the United States' position. The IAEA's finding stating that the uranium traces did not originate in Iran has strengthened Iran's ability to maintain that it is not pursuing nuclear weapons development.

Iraq invasion pushed rogues to nukes - analyst
Article Abstract:
The military analysts think that the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq might have pushed other rogue states to try to acquire nuclear weapons. Despite the proliferation of nukes, the United States would have to maintain a top conventional force, including fighter aircrafts and should continue to acquire powerful conventional warfighting capabilities.
